FreighAI vs Quotiss

Quotiss is freight rate management and quoting software for freight forwarders. It takes your ratesheets off Excel and sends a branded quote your customer can accept. Its own FAQ says the product stops there.

FreighAI starts somewhere else. Every email your company receives is read, understood and turned into a task for the right person, with the answer already drafted. Your team approves. Nobody lives in the inbox any more.

Where Quotiss is the better fit, this page says so. Every Quotiss statement here was checked against Quotiss’s own pages on 3 September 2026.

  1. 01If you are looking at Quotiss as an alternative, the difference is scope. Quotiss is a quoting and rate tool for your sales desk. FreighAI runs the daily work of the whole company. The overlap is the quote, and it is real.
  2. 02Quotiss is stronger on rates. Tariff templates by mode, named ocean-carrier connections, local charges and margins in one database. It publishes its prices and you can start the same day.
  3. 03Quotiss also puts a quoting widget on your own website. FreighAI has no equivalent, and customer self-service portals stay in your own systems.
  4. 04Quotiss says its scope ends when the customer accepts the quote. Booking and operations, including track and trace, are not part of it, in its own words.
  5. 05FreighAI reads every company mailbox, does the legwork behind each email, and hands a named person a finished task to approve. It carries on into booking, tracking, carrier bills and collection.
  6. 06Several areas are not described in Quotiss’s published material. Ask about them. Silence is not absence on this page.
About Quotiss

What Quotiss does well

Quotiss is clear about what it is. In its own words it is a practical tool for freight forwarders, which simplifies and automates the sales process, structured from freight procurement to sales to performance reports. It was built by people who came out of container shipping, it is priced openly, and its FAQ states where the product stops. That last part is rarer than it should be.

Rate management with real depth

Tariffs upload from templates, one each for FCL, LCL, AIR and LTL, compatible with most carrier ratesheets. Spot rates go in on the go. Freight rates and local charges live in one database, local charges are automated for frequently used locations, and default margins are set for services and clients. Archives of historic rates and sent quotes stay searchable. FreighAI does not present rate management as a separately named area with this much detail.

Named ocean-carrier rate connections

Maersk Spot is in every plan. Direct connections to your contract and spot rates with CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC, ZIM, COSCO, Evergreen, ONE, ECULINE and SHIPCO/SSC come on request, with WebCargoNet on the larger plans. FreighAI’s published live carrier connections are DHL, FedEx and UPS, read through your own credentials. If your business runs on those ocean-carrier contracts, Quotiss names them and FreighAI does not.

Published prices and a self-serve start

Quotiss publishes three plans at USD 129, 99 and 69 per seat per month. The 99 plan needs 20 active accounts and the 69 plan needs 50, so a small forwarder pays the 129 rate. There is no setup fee, a 14-day trial that needs no card, one month’s cancellation notice and onboarding support in every plan. It says you can start uploading ratesheets and sending quotes on the same day. FreighAI does not publish prices. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team. A small forwarder who wants to try something this week can do that with Quotiss.

A quoting widget on your own website

Quotiss describes an interface for your site that lets your customers quote freight rates without the involvement of your sales team, with margins per client, route, product and contract. FreighAI has nothing equivalent. Customer self-service portals stay in your own systems.

Overlapping, not the same job

One tool for the quote, one platform for the work around it

The overlap is real and it sits in one place. Turning an enquiry into a priced quote the customer accepts. Quotiss says its scope ends there. FreighAI treats the quote as one of several things arriving by email each day, next to agent rate replies, cargo questions, carrier bills and payment chasers. So this page compares quoting closely and states the scope honestly everywhere else.

Where the products overlap and differ

The ratesheet, or the mailbox

The difference shows up in where each product starts, and in how much of the job it stays for.

Quotiss publishes its business process as four steps. Upload your freight rates and local charges. Prepare and send instant freight quotes. Follow up on the sent freight quotes. Analyse your sales performance. That is a pricing desk’s day, and Quotiss handles it neatly.

FreighAI’s starting point is the mailbox, not the ratesheet. It watches every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and follows each conversation from start to finish. It works out what each email is and what it needs, then takes the action that message calls for. It writes the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.

The email is only the start. The real time goes on what comes after it. Find the rate on the carrier’s site. Check the tracking in another tab. Open the TMS for the job. Look up what you charged this customer last time. Forward it to operations and wait. Chase the agent, or forget to. FreighAI does all of that itself. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier, looks up the customer’s history, reads the shipment status, and talks to your TMS or accounting system. It chases what has not come back. It passes the work from pricing to operations to accounts, with the email and everything it found attached. Nobody forwards it. Nobody re-keys it. Nobody asks for an update. Then it puts the finished piece in front of the right person, with the reply already written.

Where email fits

Quotiss integrates with email so quotes and campaigns go out from the system. Reading the mailboxes that pricing, operations, tracking and accounts already work in is not described in Quotiss’s published material, checked September 2026. Test that line rather than assume it.

After the customer says yes

Quotiss is explicit. Its commercial process ends when the customer accepts the quote. The open API, and the priced TMS or FMS connection on the larger plans, are how that accepted quote reaches whatever does the next part.

FreighAI carries on from there. A won quote becomes a job on its own, fully filled in. It answers “where is my cargo?” on the customer’s own thread, from carrier status, for approval. It reads a carrier bill and matches every airway bill back to its job, checking line by line before it is booked. Work passes from pricing to operations to accounts with the email and everything it found attached. Nobody forwards it, re-keys it or asks for an update.

A narrow tool is not a lesser tool. It is quicker to buy, quicker to learn and often deeper in the one thing it does. A platform earns its keep only when the same enquiry has to reach operations and accounts without anyone re-keying it.

One enquiry, start to finish

What happens to one enquiry in FreighAI

An enquiry arrives. FreighAI reads it, notices the weight is missing and asks for it. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier for a live rate, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold, then chases them until they reply. It drafts the quote with your margin rules and what that customer paid on that lane last time. Your pricer approves and it goes. It follows up. When the customer pushes back, the counter-offer is already drafted. When the quote is old, it expires. When it is won, the job is created.

Where the rate can be fetched without waiting on a person — a carrier API, a portal read in the background, or your own uploaded rate cards — a priced quote goes out in 10–15 minutes instead of 1–2 hours. That holds for ocean and air just as it does for express; the mode does not change it. Where a lane has to be priced by another agent or over the phone, the wait belongs to whoever is answering — not to the software. FreighAI still writes the RFQ, chases the reply, and turns whatever comes back into a priced, margin-checked quote the moment it lands.

“Not described” means Quotiss’s published material did not establish the answer when it was checked in September 2026. It never means Quotiss lacks the capability. The one “no” is a limit Quotiss states itself, in its own FAQ. Close any row that affects your decision in the demonstration.

WHAT YOUR PRICER OPENS

The enquiry arrives as a finished task, not a mailbox.

In Quotiss your salesperson opens the quoting tool and builds the quote. In FreighAI the enquiry has been read, the missing detail asked for and the rates gathered. What your pricer opens is the decision.

  • One place for every kind of email
The enquiry, the agent’s rate reply and the carrier bill all arrive the same way.
  • The legwork is already done
Ratesheets pulled, the carrier checked, two agents asked, April’s price looked up.
  • Approve, not compose
Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.

The honest answer

Which one you should actually pick

If nobody should ever choose the other product, this page would not be worth reading. Here is where each genuinely wins.

Choose Quotiss if
  • the problem you are buying for is the quote document itself, built faster and looking the same across the company,
  • your rates come from the ocean carriers Quotiss names, and a direct connection to those carriers is the deciding requirement,
  • you want a price on the website, a trial this week and a subscription you can stop with a month’s notice,
  • you want your customers to price freight themselves on your own site, without your sales team touching it, or
  • your sales desk needs rate templates, local charges and margin defaults more than help with the rest of the inbox. Choosing Quotiss on those grounds is a sound product-fit decision.
Choose FreighAI if
  • the real cost is not writing the quote but everything around it, the missing detail, the quiet agent, the counter-offer, the chasing,
  • you want the team out of the mailbox, with each conversation turned into a task for the right person in the right department,
  • the same enquiry has to reach operations and then accounts without anyone forwarding or re-keying it,
  • the work after the quote matters, booking and job orders, cargo questions, carrier bills and payment collection, or
  • you want the first workflow to run standalone, with the option to work alongside your records later. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.

FreighAI’s central proposition is: Same team. 5x more business. That is the intended value position, not a measured customer result. Decide from demonstrated workflow fit, on your own enquiries.

Coexistence

Can FreighAI and Quotiss coexist?

Yes, more comfortably than most pairs on this site, because Quotiss draws its own boundary. Quotiss would own the ratesheet database, the carrier connections and the quote document. FreighAI would own the mailbox, the legwork and everything after acceptance, handing the priced enquiry across through the open API.

Be careful about one thing. Both products can hold customer records, quote history and margin rules, so decide which is the source of truth before running them together. If the quote is your whole problem, one product is usually enough. If the inbox is your problem, a quoting tool will not reach it.

Before you decide

What should you test in both demonstrations?

Bring the same evidence to both suppliers:

  • a ratesheet you actually use, in the format the carrier sends it,
  • an enquiry with the weight missing, and one for a lane you hold no rate on,
  • the margin rules you apply per client, per route and per contract,
  • a live email thread from operations or accounts, with its history,
  • the system that owns the job once the customer accepts, and
  • a customer who comes back asking for a lower price.

Then ask each supplier one plain question. When the customer accepts, what happens next without a person doing it? That is where these two products separate.

The buying question
Start here

Is the problem the quote itself, or everything around it?

PATH 01The quote itselfRates in Excel, quotes slow to build, no two look the same

A quoting and rate tool fixes this directly. Quotiss is a strong candidate.

PATH 02Everything around itThe rate is the easy part. The chasing and the hand-offs are not

This is FreighAI’s job. Every mailbox read, the legwork done, a finished task for the right person.

Two paths from one question. If the quote document is the problem, a quoting tool answers it. If the work around the quote is the problem, a quoting tool will not reach it.
Questions

Common questions

01

Is Quotiss a TMS?

No. It describes itself as freight rate management software and a sales automation platform, and its FAQ says booking and operations, including track and trace, are not part of it. An accepted quote leaves through its open API to whatever handles the next step.

02

Does Quotiss read my inbox?

Its material describes email integration in every plan, so quotes and campaigns can be sent from Quotiss. Reading every company mailbox to find the work is not described in Quotiss’s published material, checked September 2026. Ask for a demonstration on an inbound thread.

03

Is FreighAI only a quotation product?

No. Quotation is its strongest production-proven workflow, but the same engine reads every company mailbox and assigns whatever it finds, in any department. It continues into booking and job orders, tracking, invoice reconciliation and payment collection.

04

Which one is cheaper?

Quotiss publishes per-seat monthly prices. FreighAI does not publish prices. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team. Ask both for terms covering the same workflow, connections, volumes and support before comparing anything.

05

Can I keep Quotiss for rates and use FreighAI for the rest?

Through Quotiss’s open API that is plausible, and the coexistence section says how the split would work. Decide first which product owns customer records, quote history and margin rules, because both can hold them.

06

Do both keep a person in charge?

In Quotiss a salesperson builds the quote in a couple of clicks and sends it, so a person is in the loop by design. In FreighAI the reply is written and waits. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.

07

Does Quotiss cover air and road as well as ocean?

Yes. Its FAQ lists sea, rail, air and road, and its ratesheet templates cover FCL, LCL, AIR and LTL tariffs.

Sources

Quotiss’s named customers, their testimonial productivity figures, its accuracy claim and its return-on-investment calculator are deliberately not repeated. FreighAI claims come from the shared facts file, the M4 truth register and the signed Infinity Logistics customer reference of 15 May 2026. No unsupported feature absence is asserted against Quotiss.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Bring one enquiry from last week

Take the same enquiry to both demonstrations. The one with a missing weight, two lanes you hold no rate for, and a customer who came back asking for less. Watch who writes to your agents, who chases the one that goes quiet, and what happens the moment the customer says yes. Then send us that thread and we will show you what FreighAI does with it.
