FreighAI vs Reform
Both companies sell AI agents to freight forwarders. Both read the documents, do the work behind them, and keep a person in front of the result. Both let you keep the systems you already run.
The difference is what you take delivery of. Reform sells a platform you build automations on. FreighAI sells finished operating areas. Every email your company receives is read, understood and turned into a task for the right person, with the answer already drafted. Your team approves. Nobody lives in the inbox any more.
Where Reform is the better fit, this page says so first. Every Reform statement comes from its own published pages, fetched on 3 September 2026. Where those pages settle nothing, the row says unknown.
- 01Reform and FreighAI both put AI agents on a forwarder’s operational work. Both read freight documents. Both keep a person in front of the result.
- 02Reform is stronger on customs. Entry preparation, ISF, entry audits, post summary corrections and duty drawback are published in detail. FreighAI leaves filing in your own system.
- 03Reform gives you a platform to build automations on: connect your systems, digitise your procedures, configure the agent. FreighAI gives you operating areas already shaped for a forwarder’s job.
- 04FreighAI starts earlier, at the mailbox. Every company mailbox, every department, each conversation turned into a task for the right person with the reply already drafted.
- 05FreighAI goes further after the quote: agent chasing, counter-offers, quote expiry, tracking replies, carrier-bill matching and collection. Reform goes further into customs and payables.
- 06Where Reform’s published pages settle nothing, the row says unknown. Silence is never read as absence. Bring one real thread from last week to both demonstrations.
What Reform does well
Reform presents a coherent platform for freight forwarders and customs brokers. Its published story is consistent: connect the systems you already run, digitise the procedures your team follows, let agents do the document and filing work, and bring a person in when something falls out. It is sold as a platform first and a set of templates second.
Reform publishes customs in more detail than any other area: entry creation from commercial invoices and packing lists, ISF filings, entry audits, post summary corrections, duty drawback, and validation that catches missing documents before submission. It works with brokerage systems and ACE or ABI workflows. FreighAI leaves filing in your own system, so this advantage is genuine.
Reform’s own line is “Your operation is one of a kind. Your AI should be too.” The published sequence is connect your systems, digitise your SOPs, let the agent learn, then manage the work on dashboards you configure. A forwarder with an unusual process, or someone in-house who wants to own the build, keeps that process.
Reform treats payables as a first-class workflow: an invoice received, then tracked through payment and reconciliation, with a person needed only when an exception is found. Few AI products sold to forwarders publish that end of the job in this much detail.
Reform’s pricing page shows three plans, with monthly credits, automation counts, integration counts, admin seats and onboarding. Prices still need a call, but a buyer can read the shape of the deal, and the unit they are billed on, before booking one.
Same job, sold in a different shape
The products occupy the same decision layer. Both are bought by forwarding teams, both take freight documents and operational email as their raw material, both keep a human decision point, and both sit alongside an existing TMS. Quoting, document processing, shipment creation and follow-ups overlap directly. What differs is who designs the process, and how much of the job arrives finished.
Build the workflow, or switch the operating area on
The difference shows in where the work arrives, in who designs what happens to it, and in how far each product follows the job afterwards.
Reform’s forwarder page says it “works with the systems you already use to create a unified, intelligent workflow layer”, and asks you not to change your trusted systems. Its homepage describes the unit of work plainly: connect your systems, digitise your SOPs, let the agent learn from the patterns, then manage the work on a dashboard. Its pricing page counts the same unit, in automations and credits.
That is a coherent way to sell software. It also means the outcome depends on the procedure you hand over, and on somebody owning the build once the first automation is live.
FreighAI starts one step earlier, where the work actually arrives. It watches every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and follows each conversation from start to finish. It writes the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.
So the question is not which product lists more features. It is who designs the process, and who is left holding it. With Reform, your team writes the procedure down and the automation is built around it. With FreighAI, the operating area arrives shaped for forwarding work, then is scoped to your business.
Neither answer is automatically better. A platform you build on goes exactly where your process is strange, and strange processes are common in this trade. An operating area is faster to judge, because you watch finished work on the first day.
Breadth of the job
Reform’s published templates are shipment consolidation, quoting, accounts payable, customs preparation and duty drawback. Its forwarder page adds shipment creation, ISF and compliance workflows, document processing and operational follow-ups. That is a serious spread, and it runs deeper than FreighAI into customs and payables.
FreighAI’s spread runs in another direction: the enquiry before the quote, the agent chased for a lane you do not hold, the counter-offer, the quote that has to expire, the tracking question on the customer’s own thread, the carrier bill matched line by line, and the money collected afterwards. It is the work that lives in email rather than in documents.
Your people work in FreighAI. Not in the inbox. Not in five browser tabs.
- Every company mailbox, every department
- Each conversation becomes a task for a named person
- Every agent for a lane emailed, then chased
- Counter-offers, quote expiry and kept versions
- Tracking replies, carrier-bill matching, collection
- Connect your systems, digitise your SOPs
- Customs entries, ISF, audits and corrections
- Duty drawback
- Payables through to payment and reconciliation
- Automations and credits as the unit of work
What happens to one enquiry in FreighAI
An enquiry arrives. FreighAI reads it, notices the weight is missing and asks for it. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier for a live rate, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold, then chases them until they reply. It drafts the quote with your margin rules and what that customer paid on that lane last time. Your pricer approves and it goes. It follows up. When the customer pushes back, the counter-offer is already drafted. When the quote is old, it expires. When it is won, the job is created.
Where the rate can be fetched without waiting on a person — a carrier API, a portal read in the background, or your own uploaded rate cards — a priced quote goes out in 10–15 minutes instead of 1–2 hours. That holds for ocean and air just as it does for express; the mode does not change it. Where a lane has to be priced by another agent or over the phone, the wait belongs to whoever is answering — not to the software. FreighAI still writes the RFQ, chases the reply, and turns whatever comes back into a priced, margin-checked quote the moment it lands.
The same shape holds for work that is not an enquiry. Here is one arrival notice, from the mailbox to a sent reply, with the one step that stays in your own system.

“Not established” means Reform’s published pages gave no fair basis for a yes or no. It is not a claim that Reform lacks the capability. The two “no” rows are FreighAI’s own boundary: customs filing and drawback stay where they are today.
Reading the document is the start. Finishing the job is the work.
Both products read a carrier bill. The question is what happens in the ten minutes after that, and who has to remember it.
- Matched back to the jobReads a carrier bill and matches every airway bill back to its job, checking line by line before it is booked.
- Passed on with the threadWork passes from pricing to operations to accounts with the email and everything it found attached. Nobody forwards it, re-keys it or asks for an update.
- Approve, not composeYour team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.
Which one you should actually pick
If nobody should ever choose the other product, this page would not be worth reading. Here is where each genuinely wins.
- customs is the heart of the problem: entry preparation, ISF, audits, corrections or duty drawback;
- you want to build the automation yourself, around procedures already written down, and you have someone to own it;
- accounts payable, from invoice through to reconciliation, is the work you most want off people’s desks;
- the buying process needs a published plan structure and a visible billing unit before the first conversation; or
- you prefer Reform’s platform or its terms after testing both products on the same work. A buyer who chooses Reform on those grounds is making a reasonable decision.
- the problem is the inbox itself: every department’s mail read, sorted and turned into tasks, with the replies going out in their names;
- the burden is the legwork around the quote: the missing detail, every agent emailed, the quiet ones chased, the counter-offer, the expiry;
- quotation, booking, tracking, carrier-bill matching and collection should share one platform and one customer history;
- the work has to keep moving overnight, with chasing, tracking checks and follow-ups running unattended; or
- the first workflow must run without a build project of your own. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.
FreighAI’s intended value position is: Same team. 5x more business. That is the position the product is sold on, not a measured result for every business. Decide from the work you watch in both demonstrations, not from either company’s adjectives.
Can FreighAI and Reform coexist?
More comfortably than most pairs on this site, and the clean line is customs. Reform’s published strength is entry preparation and filing. FreighAI leaves filing in your own system and never claims it. A broker who wants entries prepared by Reform and the surrounding email run by FreighAI is asking for something coherent.
Across quoting, documents and follow-ups it is a different matter. Both products want to read the same document and build the same task from the same email. Run both there and you get duplicate work, two records of one shipment, and an argument about which is right when they disagree.
If both go in, decide three things before anything is connected: which product owns each workflow, which system holds the customer record, and where the hand-off happens. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.
What stays in your own system
FreighAI does not do everything, and where it stops is often where Reform is strongest. Here they are side by side, so nobody discovers them in week three.
| The work | Where it stays | What FreighAI adds around it | Reform’s published material |

Read the last column carefully. Two of those rows are reasons to look hard at Reform. Warehouse and fleet is not described in Reform’s published material, checked September 2026. On the FreighAI side it belongs to Binsy rather than the platform, which is a different conversation again.
What should you verify in both demonstrations?
Take the same evidence to both suppliers. A demonstration on the vendor’s own sample data tells you nothing about your business.
- one normal enquiry, one difficult enquiry and one with a detail missing;
- one live thread from an operations or accounts mailbox, with its history;
- the documents you receive: an arrival notice, a packing list, a carrier bill, one scanned page;
- the rate cards, carrier accounts or agent requests you price from;
- an entry or filing you prepared last month, if customs is in scope; and
- one exception that needed a person to think.
Ask each supplier who writes the procedure. With Reform, ask what happens when the SOP you uploaded turns out to be wrong, who edits the automation, and how long that takes. With FreighAI, ask what the operating area already assumes and what scoping changes.
Then ask where your coordinator would be sitting at ten the next morning: in the mailbox, in a dashboard, or in the product with a finished task in front of them. That answer is worth more than any feature table, including this one.
Common questions
Is Reform a TMS?
No, by its own positioning. It asks you not to change your trusted systems, and names CargoWise, Magaya and Descartes among those it works with. It is sold as a layer above them, not a replacement.
Does FreighAI file customs entries?
No. Direct customs filing, and HS or duty lookup, stay in the system you use today. FreighAI handles the email, the documents and the work either side of the filing, then passes the job to the person who files it.
Can Reform read our email?
Its material lists Gmail and Microsoft Outlook among its connections, so mail is one of its inputs. What its pages do not settle is whether every department’s mailbox is watched and each conversation turned into an assigned task. Ask to see an operations mailbox, not a demonstration inbox.
Do I have to build anything in FreighAI?
We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team. The operating areas arrive shaped for forwarding work, so nobody writes procedures into a builder before the first result. If you want to own the build yourself, that is an argument for Reform.
Which platform is faster to implement?
This page does not make that claim; neither company publishes evidence that settles it. Reform states dedicated onboarding on every plan. FreighAI does not publish a fixed implementation duration. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.
Which product is cheaper?
Neither publishes a price. Reform publishes plan names, credits, automation counts and what each tier includes, which is more than most. Ask both for terms on the same workflow, connections and monthly volume, then compare the units you are billed on.
Do both keep a person in control?
Your team approves every reply before it sends. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name. Reform describes exception handling on payables and a team member review before a customs submission. Ask both to show the exception path live, not the happy path.

Reform’s published counts of tasks automated, invoices processed, hours saved and annual savings are not repeated, and neither are its named customers. They are vendor figures this page cannot stand behind. Reform has no integrations page, so connector names came from its homepage and forwarder page. FreighAI claims come from the shared claims register and the signed Infinity Logistics reference of 15 May 2026.
Bring one real thread to both demonstrations
Take one shipment from last week and carry the whole conversation: the enquiry, the rate replies, the arrival notice, the carrier bill and the argument about who owed what. Ask Reform to build it. Ask FreighAI to run it. Then look at who designed the process, and how much was finished when a person first saw it.
