FreighAI vs Levity
Both companies put AI on the freight inbox. Both read the mail, pull the detail out of the attachment, build the quote, create the order and chase what has not come back. Both leave your records where they are.
What separates them is the shape it arrives in. Levity is a platform, with a canvas, modules and versions, and your own team builds the operation inside it. FreighAI arrives already shaped. Every email your company receives is read, understood and turned into a task for the right person, with the answer already drafted. Your team approves. Nobody lives in the inbox any more.
Where Levity is the better choice, this page says so first. Every statement about Levity comes from its own pages, fetched on 3 September 2026.

- 01Both products work on the freight inbox and both sit above your system of record. Levity’s own words are that it plugs into your existing TMS, ERP or custom legacy system.
- 02Levity is a platform your team builds in. Flows on a visual canvas, reusable modules, staging and production, versioning and rollbacks, and more than fifty named connectors.
- 03FreighAI arrives already shaped. Every email becomes a task for a named person with the reply drafted, and no mode removes the approval.
- 04Levity’s oversight is a dial. Its own guidance is to reduce oversight gradually as accuracy improves. Settle that question before you compare anything else.
- 05Levity sells across the whole of logistics. Its four published customer stories cover a brokerage, a carrier group, a 3PL and forwarder and a digital forwarder.
- 06Bring one real thread from last week to both teams, with the attachment that made it awkward.
What Levity does well
Levity presents a coherent platform for logistics operations. It measures the mail before it changes anything, then gives a team the parts to build on top: a visual canvas, reusable modules, staging and production, versions and rollbacks, a review screen per flow, and a published connector list. Its customer stories show that platform doing real freight work.
Inbox Analytics turns unstructured email into structured, actionable data within seconds, works on very large mail volumes, and gives what its own page calls an immediate view of your main bottlenecks. Automation is then prioritised on evidence rather than opinion. Nothing FreighAI publishes does this.
CargoWise, Turvo, McLeod, MercuryGate, Transporeon and Trimble on the TMS side. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and Dynamics 365 on the ERP side. Gmail, Outlook, SEDNA and the WhatsApp Business API for mail, with custom builds offered for legacy systems. FreighAI scopes integration work rather than publishing a list.
Review steps are defined inside the workflow and output is validated before an action runs. Its own guidance is to add review where risk is highest and confidence is lowest, then reduce oversight gradually as accuracy improves. One customer story puts it as operators reviewing, adjusting or auto-sending by relationship.
Flows are assembled from reusable modules, promoted from staging to production, versioned, rolled back when a change goes wrong, and configured with environment variables. Levity also writes the reviewer’s screen from a plain-language description of what that person needs to see.
ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification, GDPR compliance, private clouds on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, and data encrypted in transit and at rest. FreighAI’s published material does not cover that ground, so a buyer with a hard security gate should ask us directly.
Same job, two ways to take delivery
These two are bought by the same person for the same reason. The freight inbox is where the working day goes, and both act on it directly: quoting, creating the order, answering tracking questions and chasing what is missing. The question is whether you want a platform to build the operation in, or an operation that arrives built.
The same inbox, two different deliveries
Both read the same mail and produce the same kinds of work. What differs is who designs what happens next, and whether a person can be taken out of the loop.
Levity’s published customer work is real freight work. Quote requests scraped from email, routed through the buyer’s own pricing tools and returned as draft quotes. Loads built automatically from customer spreadsheets and from PDF tenders. Bills of lading normalised out of Excel, Word, PDF, email bodies and even WhatsApp messages. Tracking answered from live carrier data. Document requests sent to carriers, then followed up on a defined cadence, some by phone.
That is a full working day of freight email, and it is fair to say so plainly. What matters is how it is delivered. Levity is a platform. Somebody in your business designs that operation on the canvas, and keeps designing it as the operation changes.
FreighAI starts from a fixed idea of the job instead of a canvas. It watches every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and follows each conversation from start to finish. It works out what each email is and what it needs, then takes the action that message calls for. It writes the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.
What happens to one email
Who Levity sells to
Levity’s about page says it serves large logistics teams. Its four published customer stories cover a Florida open-deck brokerage, a European carrier and logistics group, a 3PL and forwarder, and a digital forwarder. Four businesses, four different parts of logistics. The stories are listed in the sources below if you want to read them yourself.
It is not a reason to rule Levity out. Two of the four are forwarders, and the work on their pages is forwarding work. It is a reason to ask whose day the demonstration is showing you, because the freight examples Levity publishes lean towards North American brokerage and load building. FreighAI is sold to one kind of business and shaped around one kind of day. That is the trade this page is asking you to weigh.
Who is allowed to send
This is the sharpest difference on the page. Levity asks you to define where in the workflow AI needs a second pair of eyes, and to validate output before actions are executed. It then tells you to add review where risk is highest and confidence is lowest, and to reduce oversight gradually as accuracy improves. One customer story puts it as operators reviewing, adjusting or auto-sending depending on the customer relationship. Oversight is a dial, and the dial can be turned down.
FreighAI has no dial. Your team approves every reply before it sends. That is a design position rather than a feature we have not built yet, and it costs us business. A buyer who wants low-risk lanes going out unattended can have that from Levity and cannot have it from us. Decide which of the two you want first, because most of the rows below read differently depending on the answer.
What happens after the quote
Both build a quote. What each does afterwards is where the published material parts company. When the customer pushes back on price, a counter-offer is drafted and waits for approval. Reads a carrier bill and matches every airway bill back to its job, checking line by line before it is booked. Levity’s pages cover quoting, order entry, documents, tracking and chasing carriers for paperwork. Counter-offers, quote expiry, version history and matching a carrier bill to its job are not described in Levity’s published material, checked September 2026. Silence is not absence. Ask, and if the answer is yes, ask to see it running.

One enquiry, start to finish
An enquiry arrives. FreighAI reads it, notices the weight is missing and asks for it. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier for a live rate, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold, then chases them until they reply. It drafts the quote with your margin rules and what that customer paid on that lane last time. Your pricer approves and it goes. It follows up. When the customer pushes back, the counter-offer is already drafted. When the quote is old, it expires. When it is won, the job is created.
Where the rate can be fetched without waiting on a person — a carrier API, a portal read in the background, or your own uploaded rate cards — a priced quote goes out in 10–15 minutes instead of 1–2 hours. That holds for ocean and air just as it does for express; the mode does not change it. Where a lane has to be priced by another agent or over the phone, the wait belongs to whoever is answering — not to the software. FreighAI still writes the RFQ, chases the reply, and turns whatever comes back into a priced, margin-checked quote the moment it lands.

“Not established” means Levity’s published pages did not settle the answer, so this page will not assert one. It is never a no. Close any row that matters to you in the demonstration, and ask for the screen rather than the sentence.
Not a flow you designed. A task already finished.
Levity hands your team a canvas, a set of modules and a review screen it writes for you, and your business decides what the operation looks like. FreighAI hands your team the finished piece of work, on the desk of the person who owns it.
- Read in whatever form it arrivesReads PDF, Excel, Word, forwarded email, WhatsApp messages, photos and scans.
- The legwork is already doneFreighAI talks to carriers, portals, your TMS and your accounting system itself. Nobody hops between websites to put an answer together.
- Assigned, not queuedWrites the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation.
Which one you should actually pick
If nobody should ever choose the other product, this page would not be worth reading. Here is where each genuinely wins.
- you do not yet know where your team’s hours go, and want the mailbox measured before anything is automated;
- you run a system on its published connector list, and a named connector matters more than a scoped integration;
- you have a digital team who will own the build, and want the canvas, the versions and the rollbacks in your own hands;
- you want unattended running on low-risk work, with oversight turned down as confidence rises;
- a security questionnaire has to be answered first, and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II already in place decides it; or
- your operation is unusual enough that a workflow you design beats one that arrives shaped.
- you want the inbox taken off your team’s desk, every department mailbox followed to the end, rather than flows somebody has to design first;
- nobody in your business is free to own an automation platform, and an operation that arrives shaped is worth more than one you shape;
- the work has to keep moving after the quote, into the counter-offer, the expiry, the tracking reply and the carrier bill;
- you want each conversation to land on one named person as finished work, not in a queue somebody picks from;
- you want a person behind every message your customer receives, with no setting that removes them. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.
FreighAI’s central proposition is: Same team. 5x more business. That is the intended value position, not a measured result for every business. The honest way to settle this page is to run a week of your own mail through both.
Would you run both?
You could, and the split is easy to describe. Levity measures the mail and tells you where the hours go, and its connector list reaches systems that would otherwise need scoping on our side. FreighAI takes the mail itself and turns each conversation into assigned work.
The cost is real. Both read the same mailbox and both write replies. Point two products at one inbox without deciding who owns each conversation, and your customer gets two answers to one question. Split it by mailbox or by message type, and agree whose reply the customer receives. FreighAI is an AI-first freight operations platform that can run standalone or work alongside an existing TMS or ERP. It does not require a forced replacement. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.
What stays in your own system
Neither product is a system of record and neither is trying to become one. Levity’s integrations page says it plugs into your existing TMS, ERP or custom legacy system. FreighAI takes the same position.
| What it is | Stays in your own system | What FreighAI adds | What to scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shipment records | Your TMS holds the job, the documents and the accounts. | The work around them is done and drafted, then handed to a person. | Which records are read, and what gets written back. |
| Customs filing | Direct filing and duty lookup stay where they are today. | The mail around a filing is read and assigned like any other. | Who files, and what the task hands them. |
| Statutory books | Bank reconciliation, accruals and provisions stay in your accounting system. | A carrier bill is matched line by line to its job before it is booked. | Which ledger the approved bill lands in. |
| Customer self-service | A portal your customers book in themselves is outside FreighAI. | The customer emails instead, and gets an answer a person approved. | Whether your customers want a portal at all. |

Three things buyers push back on
“We have a developer. Why not just build it in Levity?”
If that person is genuinely free, and still free in a year, Levity is a strong answer and this page says so. The question is who owns the flows on the day they are busy elsewhere. A platform is an asset while somebody maintains it and a liability when nobody does.
“Levity publishes ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Where is yours?”
Fair, and this page does not dodge it. Levity’s security page states ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification, GDPR compliance and private cloud hosting. FreighAI’s published material does not cover that ground, so ask us directly and put both answers in front of the same person.
“A fixed approval step will slow us down.”
Sometimes it will, and that is the trade. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name. The work is finished when it reaches the desk, so approving is a read and a click rather than a piece of writing. Levity’s answer is to let you reduce review where risk is low. Both are defensible. Only one is available from us.
What to put in front of both teams
Give both suppliers the same five things, and refuse a curated demonstration set:
- one week of a real department mailbox, not five chosen emails;
- the enquiry with the weight missing and the attachment nobody can open;
- a lane you hold no rate for, so you can watch who writes to your agents;
- the customer who came back asking for ten percent less; and
- the carrier bill that did not match the job.
Then ask each team two questions. Who maintains that design in a year? And what, in that week, would have left the building without a person reading it first? Chasing, tracking checks, quote expiry and follow-ups run on their own. Nobody has to remember.
Common questions
Is Levity built for freight forwarders?
It does freight forwarding work and publishes it: quote requests read from email and returned as drafts, loads built from customer spreadsheets, bills of lading extracted, tracking answered and carriers chased for documents. Its own about page says it serves large logistics teams, and its four published customer stories run from a brokerage to a carrier group to a 3PL and a digital forwarder. Forwarding is one of the operations it is built for.
Which one lets the AI reply without a person?
Levity can, once review is reduced. Its own guidance is to reduce oversight gradually as accuracy improves, and one customer story describes operators auto-sending by relationship. FreighAI does not, in any mode. Your team approves every reply before it sends.
Does FreighAI publish a connector list like Levity’s?
No. Levity names more than fifty connections and offers custom builds for legacy systems. FreighAI talks to your TMS and accounting system, but the work is scoped rather than listed. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.
Which is cheaper?
This page makes no claim. Levity publishes no pricing page at the URLs checked on 3 September 2026, and neither does FreighAI. Ask both for terms covering the same workflow and the same volume.
Do we have to replace our TMS for either of them?
No, and neither supplier asks you to. Levity’s integrations page says it plugs into your existing TMS, ERP, communication tools or custom legacy system. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.
Why does this page not repeat Levity’s customer results?
Because they are Levity’s results, measured by Levity, on its own customers. Repeating them turns a comparison into someone else’s case study. This site names one customer, Infinity Logistics, and that rule covers other suppliers’ customers too. The four stories are linked in the sources instead.
