What your team can do once DHL is connected

Most forwarders hold different rates across services or origins. We map which of your approved account rates apply to which lanes so the right one is used automatically.

Company floor first, then any carrier, lane or customer floors that differ. This usually takes one working session with whoever currently makes those calls in their head.

Run it alongside for a fortnight
Quote as you normally would, and let FreighAI draft in parallel. Compare. The point is to see where it agrees with your best pricer and where it does not, before anything depends on it.
What the DHL connection does not do
Worth knowing before you plan around it.
- FreighAI does not negotiate your DHL rates and cannot get you a better account rate. What it does is stop you quoting below the one you have.
- If you do not hold a DHL account, this connection does nothing for you. Rates are read through your credentials — there is no FreighAI rate to fall back on.
- Rate accuracy is only as good as what your account returns. Where DHL's response is incomplete for an unusual shipment, the quote is flagged for a person rather than guessed at.
- Surcharges and accessorials that DHL applies at invoicing rather than at rating will not appear in the quote. Reconciliation catches these afterwards; the quote cannot predict them.
- This is rating and quoting. Label generation, pickup booking and tracking sit with the booking and tracking agents, not with this connection.
Common questions
Do you mark up our DHL rates?
No. FreighAI reads your account rates and applies the margin you configure. There is no FreighAI margin inside the rate, and no revenue share on your shipments.
Can other FreighAI customers see or use our rates?
No. Credentials are scoped to your organisation and used only to price your own shipments. Your negotiated rates are commercially sensitive and are treated that way.
What if we buy DHL capacity through another agent rather than directly?
Then this connection is not the right one for those lanes, and it is better to say so. Where an agent prices for you, FreighAI writes and chases the RFQ instead — but the reply time is theirs.
How fast is a quote once DHL is connected?
Where the rate comes back from your account through the API, a drafted and margin-checked quote is ready in 10–15 minutes rather than an hour or two. That is a property of the rate being machine-reachable, not of express freight specifically.
Does this replace our DHL portal?
No. Your team can keep using it exactly as they do. This connection exists so that quoting does not require someone to open it.
