FreighAI vs Nunar
Two AI layers, one decision. Both sit above the systems a forwarding business already runs. Both read the documents nobody has opened yet. Both hold work for a person to approve, though Nunar’s tracking material also describes customer notifications that go out on their own. Most people arrive here while shortlisting Nunar, or looking for a Nunar alternative for freight forwarding operations.
FreighAI’s starting point is different in kind. Every email your company receives is read, understood and turned into a task for the right person, with the answer already drafted. Your team approves. Nobody lives in the inbox any more.
Where Nunar is the better fit, this page says so. Every Nunar statement below comes from its own pages, checked 3 September 2026.
- 01Nunar and FreighAI both put AI above the systems you already run. Both read documents, check rules, and hold work for a person to approve.
- 02Nunar is organised around named processes: RFQ intake, customs declarations, trade-portal entries, reconciliation, purchase orders and shipment exceptions. It finishes them inside your ERP, finance and customs systems.
- 03Nunar prepares and files customs declarations, including Dubai Trade Portal entries checked on Mirsal 2. FreighAI leaves direct customs filing in your own system, so that is a real Nunar strength.
- 04FreighAI is organised around the inbox and the person. Every company mailbox, every department, each conversation followed to the end and handed to the right person with the reply written.
- 05Nunar’s published orientation is wider than freight forwarding. Its own material describes manufacturing, distribution and logistics environments, so the freight-specific parts are worth checking one at a time.
- 06Bring one real email thread from last week to both demonstrations, with the enquiry, the quiet agent and the paperwork behind it. Judge the work, not the slogans.
What Nunar does well
Nunar presents a clear, governed execution platform. Its argument is that the real bottleneck sits before the ERP, inside emails, PDFs, RFQs, debit notes, invoices and scanned documents, and that AI agents should finish those processes inside the systems you already run, with the rules checked first, a person approving, and a record of what was done.
Nunar prepares Dubai Trade Portal entries and validates them on Mirsal 2, across import, export, transfer, transit and free-zone-to-mainland movements. It reads invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills and certificates, and identifies which scenario a shipment belongs to before it builds the entry. Its own wording is that there are no black-box submissions and that every field traces back to its source document, with a person approving first. FreighAI leaves direct customs filing in your own system or with your broker, so this is a genuine Nunar advantage rather than a difference of emphasis.
Nunar describes five layers: document intelligence, deterministic validation, human approval, execution inside your systems, and a tamper-evident audit record. Its own wording is that policy violations are prevented before execution, not flagged afterward, and that your team supervises by exception rather than checking every output. It also publishes on-premise and private-cloud deployment. For a business with a real audit obligation, or one whose data cannot leave its own estate, that combination is a strong published position and worth testing directly.
Nunar names SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Oracle Fusion and Oracle NetSuite, alongside categories for transport, finance and billing, and trade, customs and port systems. Its three-way reconciliation matches orders, deliveries and payments across an order system, delivery reports and finance ledgers, closing what matches and routing only the exceptions to a person. It also posts purchase orders. If your complaint is that work never lands cleanly in the ERP, that is the problem Nunar leads with.
Nunar says it is built for UAE and GCC markets and serves teams operating in those regions, and that shows in customs work which is specific rather than generic. These are Nunar’s own first-party claims, taken from its own pages. This page does not repeat its published workflow counts, productivity multiples, accuracy rate, effort-reduction percentages or turnaround figures, because that evidence has not been independently reviewed here.
Same layer, different unit of work
Both products sit above your systems of record rather than inside them. Both take in documents and email, apply rules, hold a human decision point and write into an ERP or a TMS. So this is a real comparison, not a category argument. The difference is the unit of work. Nunar drives a named process to completion. FreighAI turns a conversation into a finished task for one person.
A process to finish, or a conversation to answer
Both products earn their keep on the same raw material: the email and the attachment nobody has opened yet.
Nunar’s homepage puts the problem well. Most logistics work happens before the ERP or the spreadsheet, inside emails, PDFs, RFQs, invoices and scans. Nunar picks that up, reads it, checks it against rules, and executes the result inside SAP, Oracle or the Dubai Trade Portal.
FreighAI starts one step earlier, at the mailbox. It watches every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and follows each conversation from start to finish. It works out what each email is and what it needs, then takes the action that message calls for. Writes the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation.
Your people work in FreighAI. Not in the inbox. Not in five browser tabs.
Nunar’s published orientation is wider than freight forwarding. Its About page describes an execution platform for manufacturing, distribution and logistics environments, built by Hakuna Matata for UAE and GCC markets. Breadth is not worse. It does mean the freight-specific parts are worth checking one at a time.
Both products therefore read the same post. The difference shows up immediately afterwards. Nunar asks which process this document belongs to, validates it against the rules for that process, and drives it into the system that owns the outcome. FreighAI asks who this conversation belongs to, does the legwork the reply needs, and puts a finished task in front of that person.
The unit of work
Ask what each hands a person at the end. Nunar’s RFQ page describes quote-ready data: line items, quantities and service scope pre-organised and validated, with humans in control of pricing. FreighAI hands over the written reply itself. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.

- RFQs read into quote-ready data
- Trade-portal entries, checked on Mirsal 2
- Posting into SAP, Oracle and finance

What happens to one enquiry in FreighAI
An enquiry arrives. FreighAI reads it, notices the weight is missing and asks for it. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier for a live rate, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold, then chases them until they reply. It drafts the quote with your margin rules and what that customer paid on that lane last time. Your pricer approves and it goes. It follows up. When the customer pushes back, the counter-offer is already drafted. When the quote is old, it expires. When it is won, the job is created.
Where the rate can be fetched without waiting on a person — a carrier API, a portal read in the background, or your own uploaded rate cards — a priced quote goes out in 10–15 minutes instead of 1–2 hours. That holds for ocean and air just as it does for express; the mode does not change it. Where a lane has to be priced by another agent or over the phone, the wait belongs to whoever is answering — not to the software. FreighAI still writes the RFQ, chases the reply, and turns whatever comes back into a priced, margin-checked quote the moment it lands.

“Not described in Nunar’s published material” means its pages did not settle the point when they were checked in September 2026. It is never a claim that Nunar lacks the capability. Two rows are unknown on the FreighAI side for the same reason.
Both hold work for a person. What is that person handed?
Both keep a human decision point, and both say so plainly. The question worth asking is what is waiting when that person opens their screen.
- Data, or the replyNunar’s material describes quote-ready data to review. FreighAI hands over the written reply on the customer’s thread.
- Assigned to a personWrites the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation.
- Approve, not composeYour team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.
Which one you should actually pick
If nobody should ever choose the other product, this page would not be worth reading. Here is where each genuinely wins.
- customs declarations and trade-portal entries are the work you most want taken off people;
- the decisive requirement is clean posting into SAP, Oracle or a finance system, with orders, deliveries and payments reconciled;
- your audit position needs an on-premise or private-cloud deployment with a tamper-evident record;
- the same platform also has to serve manufacturing or distribution work beside the forwarding; or
- the buyer prefers Nunar’s interface, deployment model or commercial terms after both products have run the same work. Choosing Nunar on those grounds is a reasonable product-fit decision, not an oversight.
- the burden is the inbox itself: every department’s email read, sorted and turned into tasks for the right person, replies going out in their names;
- the pricing work is the legwork around the quote: asking for the missing detail, emailing every agent for a lane, chasing the quiet ones;
- quotation has to connect with booking, tracking, carrier-bill matching and collection on one platform;
- the people you are trying to protect are coordinators and pricers rather than a finance or compliance team, and success looks like nobody living in a mailbox at seven in the evening; or
- the first workflow must run standalone, with the option to work alongside a TMS or ERP later. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.
FreighAI’s central proposition is: Same team. 5x more business. That is the intended value position, not a measured result for every business. Decide from the work each product does in front of you.
Could you run both?
More easily than with most comparisons on this site. The two overlap on enquiry intake and on reading documents, but their deepest work sits in different places. FreighAI’s boundary leaves direct customs filing in your own system. That is exactly where Nunar is strongest.
A workable split is one product answering the customer, the other preparing and filing declarations. It only works if one system owns the customer conversation, the hand-off is written down, and neither re-keys the other’s data. Where both are bought for the same enquiry-to-quote work, pick one.
Write down three things before you sign anything: which system holds the customer record, which one a coordinator opens first in the morning, and what happens to a declaration when the underlying quote changes. If those three answers are clear, two products can live together. If they are not, you have bought an integration project rather than a platform.
What should you check in both demonstrations?
Give both suppliers the same material, and make it your own paperwork rather than theirs:
- a normal enquiry, a difficult one, and one with a detail missing;
- one real email thread from an operations or accounts mailbox;
- the declaration types you file, with their documents;
- the rate sources you use, and the system that owns an accepted job;
- one exception that needs a person’s judgement; and
- the audit or data-residency requirement your compliance team will actually apply.
Then ask both the same closing question. When your coordinator opens their screen at ten in the morning, what is waiting there? Quote-ready data to check, or a written reply to approve? Both are legitimate answers. They are not the same product.
Common questions
Is Nunar a TMS?
No, by its own positioning. It describes an AI agent platform that executes processes inside the ERP, transport, finance and customs systems you already run.
Does Nunar file customs declarations?
Its published material says it prepares and validates Dubai Trade Portal entries, checks them on Mirsal 2, and submits only after a person approves.
Does FreighAI file customs declarations?
No. Direct customs filing and duty or HS lookup stay in your own system or with your broker. FreighAI runs the email, quoting, booking, tracking and accounts work around them.
Is Nunar only for one region?
Its About page says it is built for UAE and GCC markets and serves global logistics and manufacturing teams operating in those regions. The customs and trade-portal work is the most region-specific part of it.
Nunar covers more than freight. Is that a problem?
Not by itself. A platform that also serves manufacturing and distribution may bring stronger ERP and finance execution to your customs and accounts work. It does mean the freight-specific steps, from agent chasing to quote expiry, need checking one at a time rather than assumed.
Do both keep a person in control?
Your team approves every reply before it sends. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name. Nunar’s material describes approval queues, supervision by exception, and approval before any customs submission.
Which is cheaper, or quicker to put in?
Neither is claimed here. Nunar publishes effort and turnaround figures this page does not repeat. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.

Bring one real email thread
Take a thread from last week, with the enquiry, the agent who went quiet, the customer who pushed back and the paperwork behind it. Ask both teams to run it in front of you. Then decide whether your problem is finishing processes inside your systems, or getting your team out of the inbox.
