FreighAI vs CargoAi
CargoAi is an air cargo platform. Its own products page is titled “eBooking and Tracking Air Cargo Products”. It sells schedules, rates, e-booking, tracking, emissions and a way to pay the airline.
FreighAI is not that. Every email your company receives is read, understood and turned into a task for the right person, with the answer already drafted. Your team approves. Nobody lives in the inbox any more.
So the overlap is narrower than the two names suggest. It is air quoting, air booking and the tracking answer. Everything said about CargoAi here comes from its own pages, fetched on 3 September 2026.
- 01In most businesses these two are not competing for the same budget line. CargoAi buys air freight better. FreighAI runs the work around it.
- 02CargoAi gives you airline schedules, rates and capacity in one place, e-booking into that capacity, CO2 measured as you book, and a way to pay the airline with no IATA CASS number and no bank guarantee.
- 03FreighAI reads every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and turns each conversation into a task for a named person with the reply written.
- 04If air is most of your business the two genuinely touch. If you also move ocean, road or multimodal, CargoAi’s published scope is air throughout.
- 05One difference outranks every feature. CargoAi says high-confidence tasks execute instantly and low-confidence ones go to a person. FreighAI holds every reply. Settle that first.
- 06Take one air RFQ with a dimension missing, and last month’s carrier bill, into both demonstrations.
What CargoAi does well
CargoAi has built something FreighAI has not tried to build: a working air cargo marketplace with the money attached. Schedules and capacity from virtually every airline, e-booking straight into it, tracking across hundreds of carriers, a payment rail that settles with the airline, and products for the airlines on the other side.
CargoMART says it displays 100% of cargo flight schedules, so nobody searches airline web pages one at a time. You compare airline rates, schedules and capacity side by side, send bulk eQuote requests, and book against direct connections to airline capacity. FreighAI runs no marketplace of that kind.
CargoMART Payments, powered by CargoWALLET, covers more than 30 currencies and lets a forwarder book imports from any origin in the world. Its own page puts it plainly: without an IATA CASS number, without airway bill stock, without a bank guarantee. Prepaid is open to every forwarder, PayLater is by application at 30 or 60 days.
Its own page says CargoMART calculates the CO2 emissions of your shipment at every step of the booking process, and lists a CO2 dashboard. The Schedules API includes a CO2 calculator, the Track and Trace API an integrated one, and the products page lists CO2 tracking and SAF purchase under CargoMART. If your customers want that figure on the quote, it is a real reason to choose CargoAi.
CargoCONNECT lets a business search, book and track shipments including CO2 without leaving its own system, through four named APIs sold on RapidAPI, where the free Basic account tests the CDG to BKK route only and Pro unlocks the worldwide network. CargoAi also sells to airlines and GSAs through CargoGATE and to TMS suppliers, with CargoINTEL selling capacity and demand trends to both sides. FreighAI publishes no catalogue and does not sell to airlines at all.
One buys the air freight. One runs the work around it.
CargoAi's published job is air cargo procurement, from planning and booking through monitoring deliveries to making the payment. FreighAI's job is everything the email asks for, in every department, whatever mode the shipment moves by. They touch at air quoting, booking and the tracking answer.
The overlap is air quoting and booking
Three things sit in both products. Reading an air enquiry, getting a price back to the customer, and answering “where is my cargo?”. Everything else belongs to one of them.
CargoAi describes CargoCoPilot Agent as a conversational AI working across WhatsApp, email, airline websites and CargoMART, for airlines, GSAs and forwarders. It handles airway-bill tracking, rate and capacity search in ordinary language, and automated booking from an email. Its earlier products do related work: an Outlook plugin that pulls shipment details into CargoMART in one click, and an API that turns unstructured email requests into quotes.
That is real. A forwarder who books air and lives on WhatsApp can ask for a rate, get a booking made and get a tracking answer without opening a portal.
What FreighAI is doing instead
FreighAI does not start at the rate or the channel. It starts at the mailbox, and not one mailbox. It watches every company mailbox, pricing, operations, tracking and accounts, and follows each conversation from start to finish. It writes the reply, creates the task, and puts it in front of the right person in the right department, beside the original conversation. Your team approves. They do not compose, forward, file or chase. The reply goes out in their name.
Work passes from pricing to operations to accounts with the email and everything it found attached. Nobody forwards it, re-keys it or asks for an update. A marketplace does not reach that. It is one of the tabs your coordinator has open, not the desk they sit at.
One difference changes how you buy. You keep your own carrier accounts and negotiated rates. FreighAI never sits between you and your carrier relationship. CargoAi's model is the opposite by design: it aggregates airline capacity and, through CargoWALLET, can settle with the airline for you. Whether you want that middle position is a commercial decision.
- Every company mailbox, every department
- Each conversation turned into a task for a named person
- Your own rate cards and carrier accounts
- Agents emailed and chased for lanes you do not hold
- Ocean, road and multimodal enquiries too
- Carrier-bill matching and collection from your customers
- Schedules and capacity from virtually every airline
- Bulk eQuote and e-booking into airline capacity
- Paying the airline through CargoWALLET
- CO2 at every step, and SAF purchase
- Schedules, Rates & Book and Track APIs
- Products for airlines, GSAs and TMS vendors
What happens to one air enquiry in FreighAI
The same enquiry, all the way through, so you can put it next to whatever CargoAi shows you.
An enquiry arrives. FreighAI reads it, notices the weight is missing and asks for it. It pulls your rate cards, checks the carrier for a live rate, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold, then chases them until they reply. It drafts the quote with your margin rules and what that customer paid on that lane last time. Your pricer approves and it goes. It follows up. When the customer pushes back, the counter-offer is already drafted. When the quote is old, it expires. When it is won, the job is created.
Where the rate can be fetched without waiting on a person — a carrier API, a portal read in the background, or your own uploaded rate cards — a priced quote goes out in 10–15 minutes instead of 1–2 hours. That holds for ocean and air just as it does for express; the mode does not change it. Where a lane has to be priced by another agent or over the phone, the wait belongs to whoever is answering — not to the software. FreighAI still writes the RFQ, chases the reply, and turns whatever comes back into a priced, margin-checked quote the moment it lands.
The booking can still be made in CargoMART if that is where your airline capacity lives.

Which one you should actually pick
If nobody should ever choose the other product, this page would not be worth reading. Here is where each genuinely wins.
- your hardest problem is airline access, and seeing schedules, rates and capacity across many airlines at once would change what you can sell;
- you need to book and pay for air freight without an IATA CASS number or a bank guarantee, or you want import bookings from origins where you hold no account;
- your customers are asking for CO2 figures on the quote, or you want the SAF purchase its products page lists under CargoMART;
- you want the marketplace inside your own system through a published API your developers can test before anyone signs; or
- you sit on the airline or GSA side too, or you sell software to forwarders, in which case CargoAi has products FreighAI does not.
- the problem is not airline access but the volume of email around it, and you want every department mailbox turned into tasks with the replies written;
- a real share of your enquiries are ocean, road or multimodal, and you want one way of working across all of them;
- the pricing burden is the legwork: the missing detail, the agents who have to be chased, the counter-offer, the old price that should have expired;
- you want quotation to connect with booking, tracking replies, carrier-bill matching and collection on one platform. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them.
- you want a person to approve every reply, with no mode in which the software sends on its own.
FreighAI’s central proposition is: Same team. 5x more business. That is the intended value position, not a universal measured customer result. FreighAI is an AI-first freight operations platform that can run standalone or work alongside an existing TMS or ERP. It does not require a forced replacement.
Can FreighAI and CargoAi coexist?
Yes, and for an air-heavy forwarder that is probably the sensible answer, not a compromise. The two own different parts of the same day. CargoAi is where the air freight is bought, booked and paid for. FreighAI is where the enquiry was read, the quote approved, and the carrier bill handled afterwards.
Split the responsibilities in writing before you buy either. Decide which product holds the customer conversation, which holds the airline booking, and which is the record for the job. Decide who may send a reply without a person reading it. Keep your TMS for the records. FreighAI runs the work around them. Neither needs the other removed.
One caution. CargoMART Payments removes the need for an IATA CASS number, while the CargoCONNECT FAQ says the Rates & Book API requires your IATA and CASS numbers in the request, and that without them airlines will not return any rate. Ask which route applies to you before anyone builds.
Which problem are you actually buying for?
Most shortlists that put these two side by side started from a symptom. Work out which sentence is truest about last month. If air is a small part of what you move, an air cargo platform will not fix your month.
What went wrong last month?
A procurement problem. A marketplace with direct airline connections is the right shape of answer, and CargoAi is one.
An operating problem. Reading every mailbox and handing people finished tasks is the right shape of answer.
Then run both, with the responsibilities split in writing. The common case for an air-heavy forwarder.
What should you verify in both demonstrations?
Put the same air job in front of both teams and make them work it in the room:
- a normal air RFQ, a difficult one, and one with the dimensions missing;
- one live email thread from a department mailbox, with its history;
- a lane you hold no airline rate for, so you see what each does when an agent must answer;
- the margin and approval rules for that customer;
- last month’s carrier bill, and a shipment where the charges did not match; and
- the system that owns the accepted job.
Ask CargoAi two things. Whether CargoCoPilot Agent is open to you today, because its own announcement says it is available to selected airlines, GSAs and forwarders. And what it does with an enquiry that is not air freight.
Ask FreighAI the hard one back. Your team approves every reply before it sends. If you were hoping the software would simply send, say so in the room.
Then settle the split that decides this. Ask CargoAi who presses book. Ask FreighAI who presses send. If that is one person on one screen, you need one product. If they sit in different departments, you probably need both.
Common questions
Is CargoAi a TMS?
No, by its own positioning. It describes an ecosystem of digital air cargo solutions for forwarders, airlines, TMS providers and GSAs, and CargoCONNECT exists so its data and booking sit inside a TMS you already run.
Is CargoAi only air freight?
Every page checked on 3 September 2026 describes an air cargo platform, from the products page title to the about page. Ocean, road and multimodal freight are not described in CargoAi’s published material, checked September 2026. If most of what you move is not air, ask them first.
Does FreighAI give me airline rates and capacity like CargoMART?
No, and it is not trying to. You keep your own carrier accounts and negotiated rates. FreighAI never sits between you and your carrier relationship. FreighAI pulls your own rate cards, reads your own carrier accounts, and emails your agents for the lanes you do not hold.
Can I use both?
Yes, and for an air-heavy forwarder it is often the right answer. Buy the freight where the capacity and the settlement are. Run the email, the tasks and the approvals where the operating layer is. Split the responsibilities in writing first.
Which one sends replies without a person?
CargoAi's own material describes confidence-aware automation in which high-confidence tasks execute instantly and lower-confidence cases go to human review. FreighAI has no equivalent mode. Your team approves every reply before it sends. Neither answer is automatically right.
Which is cheaper, and which is quicker to put in?
This page answers neither. CargoAi's API plans are sold on RapidAPI, with a free Basic account limited to the CDG to BKK route, but comparable published platform pricing was not established, and CargoCoPilot Agent is open to selected customers today. We scope the first workflow, integration requirements and implementation plan with your team.

Bring one air enquiry and one real thread
Take the same air RFQ to both teams, with the rate sources behind it and the thread it arrived on. Ask CargoAi to book it and pay for it. Ask FreighAI to read it, chase the missing dimension, price it and put the drafted reply in front of the person who owns it. You will know within an hour which you need.
